Good Friday morning. Our overnight rain will continue to move northeast this morning and move out of much of New England by 10 AM. Showers are expected to linger across Maine until the early to mid afternoon across central and northern Maine. Highs today will be warm although remaining much cooler across Maine with highs in the 50s with that lingering rain and cloud cover. Temps in the 70s across VT into much of NH away from northern NH. Upper 70s to near the low 80s across SNE just away from the south coast where temps will be in the 60s. Dew points will be up in the upper 50s to low and mid 60s today so you will feel that humidity! Sunshine is expected to break out by the late morning to early afternoon today across VT, NH into SNE. The sunshine will build some instability and fuel some thunderstorms across NY, VT, NH, into SNE. Timeframe from 2-9 PM with storms making it to the coast by 6-8 PM. Again, these storms will be scattered so not everyone will see a storm. Most should remain non-severe but can't rule out an isolated strong storm with some damaging winds. A wet weekend expected but the first half of Saturday should be mainly dry New England with storms developing by the afternoon and moving east. Better chance for storms to be more severe in coverage than today. Rain likely becoming widespread on Sunday as it increases. I will have more details later today with a seperate post. Stay tuned and stay weather aware later today!
Happy Friday. A warm day for many with scattered thunderstorms this afternoon-evening
