Good Monday evening. The new week is here. We are watching the potential for severe storms across New York in Western New England on Thursday but let's talk about the next two days first. Highs on Tuesday are expected to be in the 60s, low 70s. Not the nicest day with some scattered showers, drizzle around the region. Wednesday will feature highs in the upper 70s, low 80s so quite a bit warmer. I am expecting some steady rain in the morning but that should depart by 10-11 AM with some scattered showers and a spot storm in the afternoon across NNE.
Thursday is the day we need to watch very closely for the potential for a line of damaging storms across New York into Western New England. Temps will rise into the upper 70s to near 90 (Warmest across SNE). The concern is a cold front will move in from New York in the afternoon, evening. Wind shear will be highest out across Western New England into New York. If the timing of the front and wind shear with the rest of the factors for severe weather line up then we could be talking about a pretty big concern for damaging storms on Thursday afternoon-evening out that way. Stay tuned for updates! We will keep you updated
