A significant storm on the way Monday into Tuesday AM! Severe weather outbreak across the Mid-Atlantic

Good Sunday afternoon! A significant severe weather outbreak is expected across the Mid-Atlantic on Monday afternoon into the evening hours with straight line damaging winds in excess of 70 MPH, hail with some embedded tornadoes! A few long tracked tornadoes cannot be ruled out on Monday. This is a dangerous setup with a strong front, a surge of mild temperatures and a moist atmosphere! A level 4 out of 5 risk (moderate has been issued for parts of Maryland down into South Carolina! Stay weather aware if you are down in the Mid-Atlantic!

 

 This severe weather setup is rare for that part of the country 

In New England we will see heavy rain with this system as well as strong winds especially across eastern SNE into SE SNE with wind gusts approaching 60 MPH at times. Some power outages can be expected to charge your devices just in case! A batch of heavy downpours across SNE into Eastern NE on Monday morning with a bit of a lull by Monday afternoon. By the evening, temps surge to near 60 degrees across New England with widespread torrential rain by Monday evening-night. A few thunderstorms can't be ruled out across SNE! By Tuesday morning we are back to winter temperatures! A widespread 1 to 2.5" of rain is expected across New England by Tuesday AM! 

 

A flood watch has been issued into NNE. Some flooding from snow melt with the rain totals a possibility! Stay weather aware with this system! 

The Adirondacks likely see snow by early Tuesday AM as that cold front moves east with a few inches possible. Winter is not over yet and we have snow opportunities on the way into late March after this rainstorm! Stay tuned to our story for the latest updates!
