A cooldown has begun with more rain this weekend!
06/26/2025
Good Thursday morning. We are cooling things down into the weekend. You can expect highs in the upper 60s, low-mid 70s across the region today. Showers are expected to continue through the morning across CT, RI with scattered showers developing across the rest of the region this afternoon into the evening. More clouds than sun across much of the region. For Friday we are looking at highs only in the 60s for much of the region! The pattern remains unsettled with up and down temps! From 100 degrees to 60s in just a few days. Unreal. Some sun is expected on Friday but an increase in precipitation comes Friday evening-night. Widespread showers are expected Saturday. Nobody should be suprised because it IS the weekend! The heaviest and steadiest rain on Saturday will fall across NNE where an inch to an inch and a half of rain may fall by Saturday evening. Localized 2" possible in spots across NNE. Highs Saturday will only remain in the 50s across a huge chunk of the region! Low-mid 50sโ€ฆ

Weekend forecast for May 17th-18th. Severe storms on Saturday!
Good evening everyone. The weekend forecast is here! A bit of an unsettled weekend ahead before a chilly week next week! Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected on Saturday across parts of the region. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Upstate NY into through Vermont into Western NH and Western MA into a SLIGHT RISK (Level 2-5) with a 2% tornado risk across that area for tomorrow afternoon, evening! Morning convection may limit this potential but if morning showers, downpours move out by the late morning and sunshine pops out in Western NE then a few cells could very well produce damaging winds and hail with an isolated 2% chance for a tornado. The highest threat in Western New England but some storms may make it to Eastern New England by the late afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies expected for the majority of the day with some breaks of sunshine expected in between those storms which will fuel the atmopshere! Keep a very close eye on the sky especially out that way on Saturday!โ€ฆ
Here is what you can expect for the weekend! Severe storms Saturday
Good afternoon. This weekend will be unsettled but not a washout! Severe storms are expected for Saturday with the coverage area being more expansive than the storms today. Highs tomorrow rising into the upper 70s to low 80s across SNE. 60s expected for NNE. The problem is our warmfront only makes it up to about central New England. Along that front will form a boundry where a line of storms will likely bubble up across Eastern NY into Central, Southern VT, through NH, across SNE into Maine between 2 pm through 10 PM although i think the bulk of the storm activity will be between 2-6 PM. Just some showers for far NNE. The morning starts off sunny and humid with some light showers across NNE. The main threats tomorrow with these storms will be damaging winds of 60 MPH with small hail and localized flash flooding. Remember, not everyone will see a severe storm and don't focus on the exact placement of these storms on the future radar. You will need to keep a close eye on theโ€ฆ

Snowstorm outlook map for Sunday-Monday AM!
01/17/2025
Good evening! We continue to be on track for a significant snowstorm Sunday evening into early Monday morning! Models are still in some disagreement as my snowfall maps will be released tomorrow but Iโ€™m taking a blend and going with this map for where I think the HEAVIEST AXIS will be for the highest snow totals! Iโ€™m thinking 6โ€+ of snow is likely across a huge chunk of SNE into Northern New England including all of the NH and Maine coast. Mixing looks to potentially be a problem for areas south of Boston. If this tracks further west like the Canadian has it then mixing will be a problem across Eastern SNE but I am not buying a track that far west with the amount of cold air that will be in place right now. Iโ€™m leaning towards a GFS solution. I believe the Euro is too far east and weak. My confidence for significant totals is lower across central, Northern VT due to a sharp cutoff in precip but temps well below 32 and good snow ratios may get the job done up there. This looksโ€ฆ
