Good Wednesday morning.  A late season Nor'easter is on the way for Thursday and lingering into Friday. Gusty winds, heavy rain, even some late season high elevation snow expected! Let's talk about the timeline. Rain increases from south to north late this evening through tonight. The heaviest rain won't arrive up across Central, NNE until Thursday afternoon, evening. By Thursday evening rain becomes steady across NNE but SNOW will be breaking out above 3500 feet across the Green Mountains, White Mountains Thursday evening, night. 2-4" of snow can be expected across those higher peaks with Mount Washington cashing in on over half a foot of snow! If hiking, please be aware of strong winds of 40-55 MPH across the White mountains especially up in elevation with that wet snow! Winds from this storm will be from the NE.  Remember to always bring the proper gear for the expected conditions! Do not get caught off guard just because it is May. Rain tapers off across SNE by Friday morning and by Friday evening the steadiest rain will be moving out of NNE with light on and off showers continuing through Saturday. Snow across the higher elevations should lighten up by Friday morning but lingering with light snow showers through the afternoon with elevation this time of year.  Rainfall totals of 1-2" expected across much of the region with some lighter amounts expected across far NNE. Minor flooding, splashover expected along the coastline. Highs only in the 40s across the region on Thursday and most of the region on Friday. Temps will drop across the Green and White mountains Thursday afternoon, night with the high elevation snow! Wind chills Thursday only in the upper 20s, low 30s across the higher elevations generally above 3500 feet where the strongest winds will be in the mountains with much lower gusts at the lower elevations away from the coast. Wind chills Friday morning in the 30s across much of the region! (See below). This is quite an impressive storm for late May folks! Good news though is we do warm up a bit this weekend with temps in the low 50s, to low 60s Saturday and the upper 50s to upper 60s Sunday for Memorial Day weekend although some light scattered showers still expected but not a washout!
