The devestating Vermont flooding two years ago...

Two years ago today, will be a day I and Vermonter won't ever forget. On July 10th, 2023 a major flooding event took place  across Vermont. Ludlow was one of the hardest hit areas with over 6” of rain in just a few hours!

It took 6 hours to drive to Ludlow to get live coverage of this event. This was the first legitimate storm chase that I did. When I arrived I was shocked. The entire town of Ludlow was underwater with massive landslides occurring and wiping out train track systems and bridges, homes.

After a day of live coverage I attempted to head home but massive sinkholes in the roads had me stuck.

Thankfully an older 90 year old couple let me stay the night in their home and that’s when it really sunk in. The generosity of Vermonters is unmatched. They have been through a lot and will always fight and rebuild! Businesses are still impacted to this day. 1 year after the devastating floods on July 10th, 2023 we saw another devastating flooding event across the Lyndonville, St, Jay area on July 10th, 2024. Billions of dollars of damage occurred between these two flooding events. Vermont will always have a place in my heart
