ACCUMULATING SNOW ON THE WAY TUESDAY! A SLIPPERY AFTERNOON-EVENING COMMUTE COMING!

Incoming! Good Monday afternoon! A storm system is expected to move through New England Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning. Snow is expected to begin across SNE between 11 and 2 PM Tuesday and will quickly move into VT, NH, southern ME by mid afternoon. 1-3" of snow can be expected across northern Massachusetts with a coating-1" elsewhere. A change to plain rain looks likely south of the MA pike by the evening but I am concerned about freezing rain with temperatures hovering around 33 degrees! Plain rain may be difficult across northern MA and especially the elevations of SNE. A degree will make all the difference here. The NAM model may be a bit too warm with mostly rain across SNE by the evening. Plan on slippery travel through Tuesday evening! 3-5" of snow can be expected across southern VT through the Manchester NH area into central NH and much of Maine away from the far interior! This will be a wetter type of snow with temperatures around 30 degrees. This moves out by 1-3 AM Wednesday with clearing skies and temperatures in the 40s to the low 50s across ALL OF NEW ENGLAND on Wednesday! A slippery Tuesday afternoon and evening commute can be expected! We need to keep an eye on those temperatures across SNE Tuesday evening as we may see freezing rain instead of plain rain after that initial snow accumulation.
