Good Thursday evening! If you thought winter was over in March then I don't know what to tell you! We made a post over a week ago explaining that there was still more snow coming before April.
Accumulating snow is on the way across Northern New England Friday afternoon into the late evening. A narrow band of snow moves in by the early afternoon Friday and moves out by late Friday evening-night. 3-5" can be expected across the Adirondacks into the northern greens, northern NH and far NW Maine. 1-3" just south with a very sharp gradient with this! Temps in the low-mid 30s by the afternoon-evening. This will be a heavy wet snow! Some rain showers south of far Northern New England. Calm winds with this across NNE. A bit gusty across SNE with gusts to 30 MPH by Friday evening. This snow is great news for the far NNE ski mountains after the early week rainstorm
I am watching the potential for a significant winter storm on Sunday-Monday. The GFS goes big with a major snowstorm across central to northern New England. Likely a bit too aggressive but even half of what the GFS is showing would be a big hit. The CANADIAN targets central into northern New England with plowable snow. The EURO is flatter with a burst of snow Sunday then a flatter wave across northern MA into southern NH on Monday.
We still have a significant amount of uncertainty but some snow across parts of New England looks likely Sunday-Monday. Timing is shaky but looks like this would be moving in sometime on Sunday and potentially longering into Monday. We will continue to see shifts over the next 24-36 hours. Stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook story for the latest updates! Winter ain't over yet!
