Rain on the way Wednesday, Widespread frost and freeze Thursday night, Friday morning

Good Tuesday evening. It has felt a bit like Summer over the last few days with some humidity and temps in the 70s and 80s! A cold front is on the way Wednesday. Rain will move into the western part of the region this evening and will continue to move east into the overnight hours. Steady rain expected across NNE into Wednesday morning before rain tapers off by Thursday afternoon. Rainfall totals of around an inch to an inch and a half across Vermont, Central, Northern NH into Maine. Less than an inch across SNE. NNE needs the rain badly so this will help a bit but won't break the drought. Highs Wednesday will be the warmest during the morning with the cold front sweeping through from west to east. Highs in the 50s across VT, much of NH, ME by the late morning into the afternoon and dropping across SNE by the afternoon as the front swings through. Temps take a dive Wednesday night as lows crash into the low 30s across NNE. Low 40s across SNE. Likely a coating-2" of snow across Mount…

What to expect for the rest of the week

Good evening! We made it to Mid September. September is flying by with some fantastic weather. We have a nice rest of the week ahead. Highs quite warm for this time of year. 70s expected with even some low 80s! Even across NNE through Thursday! A lot of sunshine expected with a few very light scattered showers across the southcoast of SNE Thursday morning. No big deal. Lows this week in the upper 40s, 50s. 60s expected across NNE on Friday. Warmer across SNE . Highs this weekend look to be in the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies but models are starting to lock in onto some pretty cold morning lows both on Saturday and Sunday morning! Widespread Low-mid 30s look possible across much of NY, VT, NH into ME away from the coastline. Upper 30s, low 40s across SNE! We need a few more days to be 100% confident in this but a widespread frost and even freeze for many looks very possible this weekend across much of NNE! No decent rain for at least the next 7-10 days! We will have another…

Scattered heavy downpours on the way Friday. Mainly non-severe

Good evening! An active Friday is ahead folks. A cold front tomorrow with some upper level energy will be moving into New England on Friday. Not a bad setup at all for heavy downpours to pop up after 12 PM right through the evening as the cold front moves east. The severe parameters are low tomorrow but the heavy rain threat within these storms will likely drop pockets of 2 to 2.5" in rain in spots across Eastern SNE into Southern NH, Maine. We can't rule out an isolated storm within the heavy downpours that could contain 40 MPH gusts but the biggest threat tomorrow will be intense pockets of downpours with some lightning and hail across eastern New England. We may see quite a bit of hail reports as we have a cold atmosphere above our heads so any heavy downpour will have that chance to drop some pea size hail. Do not focus on the exact spots on that rainfall map as location will not be spot. After 9 PM the heavy pop up downpours, isolated storm will be fading away but between 12…

What to expect this week

Good Monday morning. The final week of August has arrived! Summer is flying by as we head into September. Today (Monday) will feature temps in the 70s and low 80s across the region. Dew points in the 60s for the first half of the day today but a cold front this afternoon-evening will drop the dew points into the 40s, low 50s! Scattered downpours and a few storms are expected today along that cold front. A low risk for severe storms. Any downpour or weak storm will be moving quick and should drop less than half an inch of rain. These quickly fade away after 8-9 PM. Plenty of sun Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s across NNE and 70s as you head south. 70s right through Friday but the higher elevations will remain in the 60s across NNE. A spotty shower Tuesday through Friday. Wednesday may feature a bit more action in the afternoon but nothing compared to what we saw last Wednesday with the widespread rain. Low temps will be in the 40s starting Tuesday night across NY, VT, NH, ME…

A SIGNIFICANT COOLDOWN THIS WEEK!

Good Sunday evening. Our cold front is swinging through SNE this evening with some scattered showers, downpours. A significant cooldown begins tonight! Lows expected to fall into the low 40s across Northern New England! That is quite the drop in temps and a huge shock to the system! Few areas likely fall into the upper 30s across the Adirondacks and northern Maine. Temps warmer tonight across SNE with lows in the mid to upper 50s to near 60. Humidity is wiped out this week. Highs Monday will be very refreshing! Upper 60s, low 70s across Northern New England. Mid-upper 70s across SNE away from the coastline. Low 70s along the coast. What a beautiful start to the week with classic fall weather through the week folks! Monday night will be quite chilly across all of New England with lows falling into the 40s across all of the region! Even across SNE, lows will fall into the 40s, low 50s. A sunny Saturday with some late day showers for Sunday

Good Saturday morning. A very nice day ahead with highs in the 80s across the region. Plenty of sunshine out there today with low humidity. Dew points are expected to creep back up into the 60s later today into tonight. Lows tonight in the mid 60s across SNE, Mid-upper 50s across NNE as humid air prevents temps from dropping into the 50s like this morning! A hot day on Sunday across SNE with 90 degrees expected into southern NH and southern ME. Mid 80s expected along the coast. You will notice the more humid air. A cold front is expected to move from north to south through the day on Sunday. Highs across far NNE in the 70s as that cold front dips south. Showers are expected by the afternoon into the evening. Those showers and some downpours are expected to weaken as they move into SNE between 6-10 PM but i can not rule out a thunderstorm with the hot temps and more humid conditions across SNE late Sunday evening. Rainfall totals under half an inch for many with a few isolated…

What a crazy evening over the North Shore of MA!

Today is an example of how mother nature is always in control! Topsfield MA, Boxford area got SMOKED at around 7:00 PM from a downpour that rapidly gained strengh into a severe thunderstorm with 100+ cloud to ground lightning strikes and 2.50" of rain recorded in just 1 hour! Multible parking lots flooded from the rapid rainfall. Thankfully nobody was hurt but what a heck of a storm that blew up with the limited severe weather ingredients today.

90s to start the week!

Good Monday morning. A hot start to the week with plenty of sunshine. Highs in the low to mid 90s across much of the region into Wednesday. A bit cooler along the coast with highs in the upper 80s away from CC/islands. Dew points ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s into Wednesday so not as humid as we have seen this Summer! A cold front swings through Wednesday which will drop temps for Thursday and Friday into the 70s across NNE on Thursday and Friday! Mid to upper 80s across SNE Thursday before dropping down into the low-mid 80s on Friday. A few storms are likely to develop mainly across the interior on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Most look non-severe right now but certainly some torrential downpours which may drop an isolated inch or two of rain in spots across the interior. We will keep you updated on that! Stay hydrated out there with the hot temps

What to expect for the rest of the week

Good Monday evening. It was a very smokey day out there today especially across SNE! Smoke from the canadian wildfires will linger into tonight and thin out through the day tomorrow so not expected to be nearly as bad tomorrow. Highs for the rest of the week will generally be in the upper 70s, to low 80s with a few mid 80s. Dew points the rest of the week in the upper 50s, low 60s so not that bad like we have seen this Summer. A few scattered showers or downpours are expected tomorrow and Wednesday, Thursday across the interior but nothing widespread. Those scattered showers and downpours will be slow moving though so a few areas may pick up a inch or two of rain across Western MA, into VT, and central, Western NH. A mix of sun and clouds outside of those scattered downpours. A big warmup is on the way this weekend and especially next week as upper 80s into the 90s will return with high humidity! Summer is far from over folks! We will keep you updated

POCKETS OF MAJOR FLASH FLOODING EXPECTED ACROSS NJ, NE PA- MID ATLANTIC ON THURSDAY. SOME FLOODING ACROSS WESTERN SNE

Good Wednesday evening! Here we go yet again! A surge of heavy rain with torrential downpours is set to impact NJ, NE PA down through the rest of the Mid-Atlantic into SW SNE on Thursday into Thursday night! The Weather Prediction Center has placed much of NJ, Eastern PA in a level 3 out of 4 risk for pockets of MAJOR flash flooding! A slight risk for flash flooding across southern areas of SNE but the highest concern remains across NJ, NE PA! Still can not rule out some pockets of flash flooding across CT, lower Hudson Valley. Please stay weather aware even across those areas! generally an inch to an inch and a half of rain across the rest of SNE away from SW CT. We saw major flash flooding across portions of NJ two weeks ago and I am afraid we will have a repeat on the way Thursday! A very favorable airmass for torrential rainfall in those areas and high precipitable water values will cause major flash flooding in spots! Rain increases Thursday afternoon and will continue into…
